Operational Updates

We are delighted to have the opportunity to serve Golden Bears on-campus at Kutztown University. Unfortunately, Dining Services is facing unprecedented labor and supply chain challenges due to the effects of the pandemic. Our staff are being pushed in their roles, with responsibilities and work schedules. We need to balance the desire to provide the level of service you expect and the welfare of our staff. As a result, we have modified our dining schedule and offerings to better focus our team in areas that can serve the greatest number of students. We are uncertain how long our hours would be modified, but we continue to work to strengthen our staff as quickly as possible. Kutztown University Dining Services and the University recognize that this is not the dining experience your student expected, as it is not the dining program that we expect to deliver to our guests; we are working together to determine a course of action in terms of compensation with details forthcoming as soon as they are available.

Cub Café is open Monday-Thursday 7:00am-7:00pm, Friday 7:00am-6:00pm, and closed Saturday-Sunday. Meal Plan holders can access the Cub Café by using a meal swipe. If you do not have a meal plan, you may use Flex, Cash, Bearbucks, Visa or Mastercard to dine at the Cub Café.

For Spring 2022, the Cub Café will once again offer its popular to-go option! To use this option, please let our cashier know that you would like a to-go meal.

Students will be able to use one take-out meal during lunch (11:00am – 3:00pm) and dinner (3:00pm – 7:00pm).
When selecting a take-out meal, please be aware that your meal plan will be blocked for the reminder of that meal zone (11:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-7:00pm) at both the Cub Café and South Dining Hall.

The Academic Forum Food Court will continue to offer your favorite in-between class meals from Zoca & La Nostra Pizza Monday-Friday 10:30am to 2:00pm.

Chick-fil-A will serve all your chicken favorites Monday-Friday 10:30am-7:00pm, closed Saturday-Sunday.

We will be temporarily pausing our use of the Transact Mobile app at Chick-fil-A, Zoca & La Nostra Pizza as we work to improve our guest experience, food quality and speed of service.

South Dining Hall will be operating with modified hours this Spring 2022 semester. Due to our current staffing shortage, we anticipate wait times. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff works diligently to serve the Kutztown University Community.

The 1st Floor of South Dining Hall will be open from 8:00pm-7:00am. Late Night Bite will continue to offer Hearth Pizza and a Hot Buffet from 8:00pm-1:00am, as well as Sunnysides 1:00am-7:00am.

South Dining Hall 2^nd Floor is open 7:00am to 8:00pm.
